Celebrating at a Shabbaton in Denmark, Western Australia

Our Nefesh Chavurah gathers for Shabbat and Holiday celebrations in the Progressive mode – enriched by Reconstructionist Sensibilities and select Orthodox Practices which enrich our egalitarian, eclectic, open community.  Teens, young adults, singles and families of every age and stage  enjoy creative, inspiring programs. We support each other through life changes and celebrations.  We  learn towards Bar- and Bat- Mitzvah, conversion and beyond.  We are life-long learners.

Outreach to those of Jewish Heritage is a cornerstone of Jewish Spirituality Australia, as is facilitating multiculturalism and interfaith understanding and collaboration.  We offer speakers, classes, seminars and workshops in classroom, community, and congregational settings.  We provide consultation and leadership training to Zionist Youth Groups and their “madrichim.” We’ve offered scholarly papers and seminars across Australia and the West Coast of the USA.  We’ve partnered to create M’SEG: Multi-Faith Spirituality Exploration Group aiming to increase peace through increasing interfaith understanding.

Through Rivka’s Bookshelf, a Hebrew and Heritage mini-library, we support parents and grandparents in providing a firm foundation of faith, heritage, tradition and spiritual strength for the teens, youth, and children they love.  We enrich families through Teen and Youth-Friendly Shabbat Celebrations, World Cafe, and Kids’ Craft Cafe – and we hope you will soon enrich our JSA family!
