Which rabbi-professor in Rabbinic School at HUC introduced us to Yom Kippur as the “Day of At-One-Ment?” The appeal of dedicating all the day to “at-one-ment” with the Source is huge. If I’ve done enough of my reflection, relationship and spiritual home-work and house-keeping by the big day, At-One-Ment is far more likely – and “atonement” far less necessary. Atonement, of course, is not the most apt translation of “Kippur” – but maybe our study of Jonah this Yom Kippur Afternoon will move us a bit closer…For all those close enough to Perth Australia who wish to explore in person, please feel welcome to join us for Yom Kippur Afternoon Torah Reading, Diving into the Book of Jonah, Yizkor Remembrance, Neilah, Havdalah and Breaking the Fast (bring and share). We’ll meet south of the river Wednesday 23 September at 5:00 pm. Chatimah Tovah- may you be sealed for a year of good and blessing! Contact us for more details about our celebration.
